Healing Properties

Have you had one of these?  If not, I must tell you that this is one of my favorite treats ever.  There is something in them that just makes me feel so good.  It takes away my pain and sorrow (when I have them) and just makes me feel niiiice.  Really.  I don't know how, it just does.

I first discovered this when I was down and out with the dreaded swine flu last summer.  The only way I survived was on Jane Austen movies and several fixes of Red Mango.

And then, while I was pregnant and feeling nasty, Red Mango would just fix me right up.

And then, when I had fallen into the endless pit of agony that is sleep deprivation (photo of the culprit below), I would call around to random family members until someone agreed to bring me some and walaa...I would feel much better.

Anyway, I am just trying to tell one and all that if you have an ailment that you just can't seem to shake, get yourself to the closest Red Mango and get yourself a little treat.  My favorite: a small Tangomonium with strawberries, mochi, and dark chocolate.  Mmmmm.

Little Birdies

There is a nest not too far from our front door that has been the home to four little birdies.  I've loved walking past and seeing their four little heads all in a row, sticking up just above the rim of the nest, waiting for mama bird to bring them some food.

The other day we walked outside and saw them out of their nest, perched up on the gutter.

So I got my camera (I am a nerd).

They're kinda cute right?  Just sitting there checking out the neighborhood.  Until...

hold the phone...

mama's got some food and she's headed straight for them.  I love how they can hardly contain their excitement.

And mama delivers.  I just love it.  Kind of reminds me of this...

I love my little birdie.

A Yellow Striped Swimsuit

Today we loaded up the car (which I am still amazed at how much we have to pack) and headed up to Brad's parents' house for the afternoon.  They have a pool, you see, and we have been dying to put our squishy little baby in her yellow striped suit and go for a dip.  She absolutely loves her bathtub, so we thought she would take to the pool too...and she did!

It reminded me of when I was a kid and in one of the houses we lived in (okay, I moved a lot) there was a community pool, kind of like this one, and how much fun I had there.  I thought of all the days at the pool that are ahead of me too.  I can't believe I get to watch this little sweetie grow up.

And no, there are no pictures of my squishy self in a yellow striped swimsuit.  Be grateful.

A Smile

Excuse me.   Are you having a bad day?  Feeling a little stressed or tense about something?  I feel that way sometimes lately, but then I just take a look at these.

Then I start to melt a little...

then I smile right along with her...

and she reminds me to stop taking myself so seriously.

And I feel better.
