3 Months, In Pictures

Today my little baby is three months old.  I just can't really believe those words, even as I sit here typing them.  I've been reflecting back on these past days, especially those first few ones, and looking through some of our photos.  Here's a look back at my sweet baby's life so far. . . in pictures.
Our baby is born.  We are overcome.

The joy is short lived and soon turns to terror as they tell us there is something wrong with our baby and they don't know what.  She is whisked away.  Away from her mom who so badly wants to hold her.

Our baby finds a welcome spot at the NICU.  She is covered in tubes and monitors and things that beep and ring.  The NICU is a place I will never forget.  Angels stroll those halls.

Meanwhile, I am visited by friends (hey guys!) and family alike.  I don't want to be alone as Brad is going back and forth between hospitals.  And I'm not.  They comfort me.  They make me laugh.  They bear my burdens.

Contents on the tray for any new mom: cranberry juice, homemade goodies, and nipple cream:)

Sweet, sweet relief.  They tell us our baby will be fine.  She will be healthy, happy, perfect and we can take her home soon.  Every day there is one less monitor, one less cord, and I get to hold her and feed her.  At long last I get to feel that soft newborn skin.

We bring our baby home, where her proud new grandparents, aunts, and uncles can finally hold her.  The harsh reality of parenthood starts to sink in, as does the bottomless pit of sleep deprivation.

She is the most beautiful thing we've ever seen.  I fall completely in love.

The first month flies by.  Well sort of.  Looking back it seems like it went by quickly but was an eternity at the same time.

I learn to fill my days with all things baby.

She starts to get more and more expressions and really looks at us like we are crazy sometimes.  She can already tell?

She is now sporting an excellent head full of blond fuzz that sticks straight up in the air. . .

she is quite the conversationalist. . .

and for heavens sake, your bow should always match your bloomers.
